QUICK KONAD OF THE DAY

Just a quick little post on a konad I did the other day. The base color is the hot pink from the Playboy Collection I swatched the other day. Swatch week is still in full effect. I have a ton more swatches coming up for you all tomorrow!

PLAYBOY COLLECTION . . . NAIL POLISH COLLECTION, THAT IS!!

Day two of SWATCH WEEK. I am bringing (sexy back!!) the Playboy collection I picked up at Gordmans last week.

I didn't really know what to expect with this polish, but to say the least my expectations weren't high. This polish is actually pretty good! Playboy almost got a WIN for this, if it weren't for their use of cheap brushes. The brushes totally ruined this polish. The formula was excellent on these. All were opaque with ONE COAT! Even the yellow one was pretty opaque. The brushes though - what a nightmare! It is like the bristles were too stiff, they would just rake the polish away in spots. Also the brushes were just all splayed out on the ends like an uneven fan shape. This fan shape was unintentional, like the brushes just couldn't hold up to being kept in polish for an extended period of time. As a side effect of the brushes being so messed up it caused air bubbles to appear on my nails too! Such a shame Playboy, you really have some nice nail polish formula on your hands ( haha, no pun was intended!).
One last thing, the dry time was a little bit longer for these than normal, even with a top coat of Seche, but nothing drastic.

So all in all I'm glad I got these, some of these colors are just amazing!! I am just loving the blue, pink and green! Not bad for $5.99. You will notice my swatches on the first two aren't great, it took me a bit to get used to working with that damn wonky brush!!

PLAYBOY DOES NAIL POLISH & NEW FAUXNAD PLATES

Who knew Playboy was getting into the nail polish biz?? I sure didn't until I found this collection at Gordman's of all places. I believe this whole set was around $5-$7 dollars, so I said "I believe I will" and had Little stick it in the basket. Yes, I make Little be my partner in nail polish shopping. He knows his way around a Sally's a little tooooo well :)

Anyway, I really like the colors and was surprised to see a Gray in the mix. Not a typical "Playboy" color I would think. Hope to get some swatches up soon.

I also got my order of Fauxnad plates and I am super-dy duper-dy excited to use them. I think my mom has about 16 manis already planned out for me to do on her nails!! These plates are much larger than the Konad plates and I must say have some designs on them that kicks Konads ass!!! I also got a free nail art pen with my order. The plates came all the way from France, but ordering them was pretty simple and I will be ordering from Chez Delaney again.
